OneUSG Connect is the University System of Georgia's HR and Payroll System, a part of the University System of Georgia initiative to develop and implement streamlined human resources and payroll policies, procedures, and technology solutions that benefit all USG institutions.

What is my job as a supervisor?

Comp Time is earned AFTER an employee reaches 40 hours in one work week.
Ecology requires prior approval from the supervisor based on the agreement between the employee and supervisor.
Ecology does not allow comp time more than 5 hours per week.
This form must be submitted by the supervisor at least one week prior to the date comp time is expected to commence.

What is the difference between an exempt position and a non-exempt position?
In a nutshell, exempt positions are not eligible for overtime or comp time.
How do I know if I will be paid for my hours worked?

Direct line supervisors are the only ones qualified to confirm their employee's actual work and work hours.

Working Without Pay (Volunteering)
No person of any age may "volunteer" to work in or for a UGA department unless their efforts are part of a structured volunteer program approved by the University.

UGA’s Non-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment Policy

Visiting Research Scholars (VRS)
...refers to visitors who are not UGA employees or enrolled students and not contracted for services, but who are coming to UGA to observe or collaborate in research or to participate in activities that require access to UGA facilities, systems or services.
​
Units are required to register all non paid visiting scholars through the VRS program. All questions about forms or processes should be directed to Ms. Jessica Farmer at vrs@uga.edu.
STEP 1: Complete the VRS Questionnaire.
The Sponsoring UGA unit is Ecology.
The Unit Head should be the acting Dean's name.
The staff contact person should be Mica Turner (mturner@uga.edu).
STEP 2: Please have your visiting scholar complete the appropriate standard visitor agreement.
If your scholar is currently employed or with another institution you will choose the standard visitor agreement with
employer/institution signature.
